Control Hub roles and responsibilities
When an organisation is first created in Webex, the partner administrator becomes the full administrator. This person can then assign additional roles to other users.
By default, newly added users have no administrative privileges until roles are assigned.
Full Administrator:
- Can assign and manage all other roles
- Has complete access to all administrative functions
Assignable Roles:
| Role Type | Responsibilities |
| User Management | Add/delete users, assign roles, manage user status, add license assignments |
| Device Management | Register/deregister devices and phone numbers, generate activation codes, manage workspaces |
| Company Policy & Templates | Configure content retention policies and security settings (e.g. block uploads or external chats) |
| Analytics & Reports | Access the Analytics tab to view usage data |
| Troubleshooting | Access the Troubleshooting tab to view meeting diagnostics |
| Webex Site Management | Add, modify or delete Webex sites (if enabled by partner) |
| Admin Actions Audit Log | View and export logs of administrator activities |
| Access to User Generated Content | Use events API and eDiscovery to access Webex content |
| Legal Hold | Override retention policies for legal investigations |
| View Support Cases | Access Cisco Support Case Manager to track support case statuses |
Manually adding users in the Control Hub

- Go to Users then Add user
- Choose how to add users:

Assigning administrators in Control Hub
Control Hub allows you to delegate administrative responsibilities by assigning roles such as:
- Full administrator
- Support administrator
- User and device administrator
- Device administrator
- Read-only administrator
- Compliance officer
Each role comes with specific privileges. For example, compliance officers can access user-generated content for legal purposes, while support administrators focus on analytics and troubleshooting.
How to find specific administrators
- Sign in to Control Hub and go to Management, then Users
- Click the Filter button and select the roles you want to search for
-
- This helps you quickly identify users with specific administrative privileges
How to assign roles to users
- Sign in to Control Hub
- Go to Management, then Users, then select the user you want to assign a role to
-
- If you’re a partner, first open the customer’s organisation, then access their Users page
3. In the Summary tab, locate Administrator roles
-
- Existing roles will be listed here
4. Click the arrow (>) to open the role assignment panel
