Business broadband FAQs

Which broadband connection is the best?

While full-fibre uses the nation’s newest, fastest and most reliable tech, it may not yet be available in your area.

Part-fibre still provides fast speeds to meet the needs of business, however those with particularly demanding connectivity requirements may want to explore leased line solutions for dedicated connectivity.

What do broadband speeds mean, in real terms?

This is how long it would take you to download one minute of a 5K movie, depending on your broadband speeds:

  • 80 Mbps: 1 min 15 secs
  • 100 Mbps: 1 min
  • 1 Gbps: 3 seconds

Chat with our team of experts about the best upload and download speeds for your team, whether you’re balancing file-heavy workloads or supporting cloud-based phone systems.

What’s the difference between business and residential broadband?

Our business broadband includes better terms and conditions than residential broadband, like added security, better support and better service guarantees.

If I run my business from home, can I still get business broadband?

Yes, if you run your business from home you can get business broadband.

Which solutions are future-proofed against the PSTN switch-off?

All our business broadband solutions will keep you connected during and after the big PSTN switch-off in January 2027.

What is failover / backup connectivity?

Imagine a shop loses its main internet connection, and all the tills stop working. With a failover in place, all of the tills would continue working, with only a blip in connectivity, rather than stopping the business from operating.

Essentially, failover (backup) is a secondary internet connection that automatically kicks in if your primary connection fails.

Do you offer symmetrical broadband speeds?

While most of our broadband is asymmetrical, we can offer symmetrical speeds up to 2Gbps depending on network availability. Leased lines are also a great option for symmetrical speeds. Chat with our team to find out more.
